Frequently asked questions
What is the shortest home care visit you do?
Thirty minutes. That is enough for a morning call to support with washing, dressing, breakfast and medication. A 30-minute visit is £17, an hour is £31, and a flat travel charge of £2.50 applies per visit. Home care is exempt from VAT, so those are the prices you pay.
How do I know which kind of care we need?
Most families do not know when they first call, and that is what the free assessment is for. We visit at a time that suits you, talk through what is difficult, and set out what would help. Nothing is agreed until you are ready.
Can the care change once it has started?
Yes. Care plans are reviewed regularly. Support that starts as three visits a day after a hip operation often settles to a single morning visit within a few months. Families also increase visits as needs change.
Do you cover villages as well as towns?
Yes. Visiting care covers Newark, Grantham, Collingham, North Hykeham, Bingham, Retford, Ollerton, Southwell and the villages around them, at the same hourly rate and the same £2.50 travel charge as a town address. Live-in care is available across the whole of Nottinghamshire.
