The single piece of advice that we really quickly learned: this is absolutely at all areas of the business a people business. We always start with our care team. We pay £14 an hour flat, with travel time between calls paid as contracted hours and mileage at 30p a mile.
What the job is
Visiting people in their own homes to help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, getting out, and the ordinary business of a day. Rounds are built by geography, so you work a patch.
Carers visit between 7am and 10pm, seven days a week. Most rounds are mornings and evenings, when people need the most help.
Where we’re hiring now
We are taking on carers in three areas where our rounds are growing: Grantham, Collingham and the villages along the A46, and North Hykeham with Witham St Hughs, Bassingham and Swinderby.

What we do not do
We do not use agency staff, and we are not a franchise. Every carer is employed by the same company that holds the CQC registration, and cover comes from our own team. Our carers have been with us an average of more than two years.

What you need
A full UK driving licence and your own car, the right to work in the UK, and an enhanced DBS check, which we pay for. No care experience is needed: the Care Certificate (15 units) is completed during paid induction.

What do you pay care assistants?

Do I need care experience to apply?
No. The Care Certificate, the Skills for Care standard of 15 units, is completed during paid induction, alongside shadow shifts with an experienced carer. What you do need is a full UK driving licence and your own car, the right to work in the UK, and to be 18 or over.
Do you use agency staff?
No, and we are not a franchise. Every carer is employed by the company that holds the Care Quality Commission registration, and cover comes from our own wider team.
Is there a route to progress?
Yes. NVQ Level 3 and Level 5 are funded for staff who move into senior roles. Our Deputy Manager and our Care Co-ordinator both started here as care assistants.
