The office is at 65 London Road, NG24 1RZ. Most of our Newark carers live in the town or the villages beside it. Journeys are short, so when a carer is off sick, a colleague nearby can cover without the whole morning’s visits moving.
Charlotte Offord, our Care Co-ordinator, builds Newark rounds by geography first. A carer covering Balderton in the morning is not sent across to Ollerton at lunchtime. Clustering the work keeps each team small: we aim to give each client a core team of up to four carers.

Emergencies usually go to King’s Mill in Sutton-in-Ashfield, or to a Nottingham hospital.

What home care costs in Newark
Visiting care starts at £31 an hour. A 30 minute visit is £17. Travel is a flat £2.50 per visit. Bank holidays and Christmas Day are charged at a premium rate, confirmed when we quote.
Home care is exempt from VAT, so those are the prices you pay. It can be paid for privately, through a Local Authority Direct Payment, or through NHS Continuing Healthcare. Which council does what in Newark
Newark sits in a two-tier area.
Nottinghamshire County Council handles adult social care. It carries out the care and support assessment, decides eligibility and sets what you contribute. Call 0300 500 80 80 to ask for an assessment. Anyone who appears to need care and support can request one, without a diagnosis or a referral first.
Newark and Sherwood District Council handles the home itself. The district administers adaptations: grab rails, ramps, door alterations and larger works. The two are joined at the start, because the occupational therapist assessment that triggers the work is arranged through Nottinghamshire County Council on the same number.
The district publishes target timescales. Minor adaptations are completed within 7 working days of the referral arriving. Major adaptations are targeted at 30 days, though some works take longer. A Handy Person Adaptation Service covers smaller jobs for residents aged 60 and over, or living with a disability.
If your family member lives over the Lincolnshire border
Long Bennington is in Lincolnshire, in the South Kesteven district, despite its Newark postal address and NG23 postcode. We reach it on both the Newark and Grantham rounds. For council-funded care and Direct Payments there, the authority is Lincolnshire County Council rather than Nottinghamshire. Private payment and NHS Continuing Healthcare work the same either side of the line.
